Masters champion Scottie Scheffler will headline the field at the 2024 RBC Heritage this week.

The Heritage is an elevated event on the PGA Tour again this season and boasts a stellar line-up despite being held the week after the first major of the year.

Scheffler stormed to glory at Augusta on Sunday, shrugging off the chasing pack to collect his second Green Jacket.

He’ll now be looking to add another big trophy to his growing collection while Rory McIlroy will also be in Hilton Head following his underwhelming Masters week.

England’s Matt Fitzpatrick won this event last year, beating Jordan Spieth in a play-off.

The Heritage has a prize purse of $20million, the same as last week's Masters, while the winner will also collect a large chunk of Fedex Cup points.

RBC Heritage: What has been said?

Masters champion Scheffler has warned his rivals that he will continue to push for big titles despite soon becoming a father.

Scheffler’s wife Meredith is due to give birth to their first child in the coming weeks.

Scheffler said: "I'm definitely not going to intentionally take my eye off the ball.

"My priorities will change soon. My son or daughter will be the main priority, along with my wife, so golf will probably be fourth in line.

"But I still love competing. I don't plan on taking my eye off the ball anytime soon, that's for sure. I feel like I'm playing really good golf right now.

"I feel like I'm as in control of my emotions as I've ever been, which is a good place to be. I feel like I'm maturing as a person on the golf course, which is a good place to be."

Meanwhile, McIlroy has been forward to dismiss reports that he is on the verge of a shock move to LIV Golf.

"I honestly don't know how these things get started," McIlroy said.

"I've never been offered a number from LIV and I've never contemplated going to LIV.

"I think I've made it clear over the past two years that I don't think it's something for me."

Asked if he knew where the rumour had originated, McIlroy said: "No, no idea.

"Jeez, I think over the last two years there's been so many rumours of guys... and I think the one thing I've realised as well is guys need to keep an open mind and I'm sure there's been players who are still playing on the PGA Tour that have talked to the guys from LIV and had offers and whatever.

"But I have no idea. It's never even been a conversation for us and it's one of those things.

"It's unfortunate we have to deal with it and this is the state that our game's in but I'm obviously here today, playing this PGA Tour event and I will play the PGA Tour for the rest of my career."
