Nsiala and Nolan Linked With Unlikely Late Exits
Monday, 1st Feb 2021 17:24

Centre-half Toto Nsiala and midfielder Jon Nolan have been linked with unlikely close-to-deadline moves away from the Blues.

PA is reporting that Fleetwood want to sign Nsiala on a permanent deal and Peterborough are keen on Nolan, while also repeating this morning’s claims that Kayden Jackson is a loan target for Huddersfield.

However, the Blues would almost certainly not allow Nsiala, who is also being mentioned in connection with Doncaster Rovers, to move on at such a late stage in the window with the 28-year-old having been a regular member of the squad this season, although we understand tentative interest was shown by both clubs.

Town are not in a position where they could allow a senior centre-half to depart with skipper Luke Chambers currently playing at right-back and James Wilson still on the way back after a knee injury. Nsiala himself is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Similarly, the Blues would be loath to allow 28-year-old Nolan to leave on loan, particularly to another club aiming for promotion such as Posh, with the midfielder having been a regular in the matchday 18 throughout manager Paul Lambert’s time at Portman Road.

Nolan and Nsiala joined Town in a joint deal from Shrewsbury in the summer of 2018. The defender is out of contract in the summer but with the Blues having an option for a further year, while the club have already activated the additional season on the midfielder's contract.

As previously reported, we understand Town have heard nothing from Huddersfield regarding Jackson.

all linked to more successful clubs; a damning indictment on the way lambert has largely failed to get a tune out of our players and in some cases mismanaged entirely.

Not sure you could class Fleetwood as more successful. Hudersfield, Posh and Donny I'll give ya!

I bet if they move they will be a useful addition to clubs with a positive coaching and tactical approach.

Odd, we never seem to have interest for Chambers, Skuse or Ward.

nsiala linked with donny, jackson to hudds, nolan to posh.

i'll give it a couple of weeks before plymouth (donacien) and fleetwood are more successful than us!

And to think we paid a combined £2m for them. Atrocious business by Evans and Hurst. Probably worth a combined £2 now.

Mischievous , rumourmongering , set to attract whispering commentary ? It would be very interesting indeed if any one of these moves had any real validity !

Positivity. Please explain how Doncaster, peterborough and Fleetwood are more successful clubs than us? None of them ever won sod all. And dont say it's because they're higher in the league than us. That doesnt make them successful.

From their personal footballing perspective all will be better off moving to a club where they will probably play in their most effective positions rather than shoehorned in to a side to accommodate others.
When the new man comes in I am sure we will see more out of all three. Let us hope it is not too late and each of these realise it is better elsewhere...at clubs that want them !!!

Fleetwood were going places before Manager departed. If I played for Town any loan move anyway I would snap up just to get experience and positivity and properly coached and managed and of course to avoid injury.

I would imagine that many of our squad are keen to leave the sinking ship so their agents will have been desperately ringing clubs yrying to attract some interest. In most cases I am sure they would look much better players in another team.

Yes, let em both go. Not going anywhere under Lambert.

Agreed ..both overrated...nice people but not players to inspire the team or its supporters ...
Unfortunately was Hursts error ..assessing them as decent Shrewsbury League One players but not as players able to join and boost a then Championship side improve..
Another in a series of misjudgements over recent years ...where has been the experienced eye and voice in supporting recruiting players ...despite the general final displeasure over MMs managerial incumbency he did have that eye for a player ..although some of his other methods may have been questionable ...
Now who has had the recommending eyes for the loan recruitments of Thomas, Harrop , Parrott and Matheson?
Lamberts in depth knowledge or because kitty could handle it ?
At this half way stage these four players should all be playing in next game ...otherwise pointless them being here..
